UFC Noche’s main event, as thrilling as it was, had a less-than-conclusive ending. The entire fight card was lined with amazing fights. However, the main draw of the night was the Women’s Flyweight bout between Valentina Shevchenko and Alexa Grasso. Grasso was defending her title and Shevchenko was looking to secure a win and become the champ, once again.

But in the end, the fight was declared as a draw by split decision. While cases like these are rare, the fight was a pretty close one. However, title contender Shevchenko had a few things to say about the controversial decision and she didn’t seem convinced that the decision was fair. In fact, UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby, who filled in for the missing Dana White, also seemed shocked upon learning the results.

Noche UFC delivered to fans the fight that they were expecting. However, at the end of the main event, the fans were left bewildered. And now, thanks to a video that has been going viral, it seems the UFC brass has been taken aback by the decision as well.

At the end of what was a really close fight, UFC Women’s Flyweight champion Alexa Grasso retained her title against Valentina Shevchenko, when the fight was called a draw by split decision. The scorecards in the end read: 48-47 for Shevchenko, 48-47 for Grasso, and 47-47. Naturally, Grasso walked home with a title but not a win over her rival. A video has been going viral where UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby is seen shocked upon learning the result of the fight at the end. UFC CEO Dana White was missing from the scene and Shelby stepped in to fill his spot.

The decision is being regarded as highly controversial among fight fans. A lot of people have been contesting the decision. Amidst all that, this video of Shelby’s reaction will raise a lot of eyebrows.

While Alexa Grasso went home with her title, she did not win the fight against Shevchenko, who suffered her second loss at the hands of Grasso (although technically, Noche UFC wasn’t a loss for her but she didn’t get the title). However, she did show heart and it can be said with some force that Shevchenko’s story deserved a better ending.

In a post-fight interview, Shevchenko was asked if she felt she was robbed in her fight against Grasso and she said that she felt that the decision was not fair. She went on to say that she felt that she had 3 rounds to her name and Grasso had 2. However, what is most interesting is that the fight was twice as hard for Shevchenko.

In that interview, Shevchenko disclosed she suffered a fractured thumb in the first round of the fight itself. However, she kept going for the fans. Taking that into consideration, the fact that Shevchenko took the fight all the way, and it ended in a draw is quite impressive. But, she said that right now; she is focusing on ensuring that she heals up properly so that she can get back to training.
