Jon Jones is considered by many to be the greatest UFC fighter of all time. And the MMA GOAT will take on the man most consider the greatest UFC heavyweight Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 on November 11 in the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York.

Miocic is known to be a humble and unassuming fighter. And ahead of their fight, the former heavyweight champion revealed to TMZ Sport he is still working shifts in his other career as a firefighter paramedic in his home state of Ohio.

In a conversation with the news outlet, the interviewer asked Stipe Miocic if the Ohio resident was still working as a firefighter. The American stated that not only was he continuing his work, but he was, in fact, working a shift the next day. Miocic was glad that he was fighting the heavyweight champion Jon Jones in November of this year as not many of his firefighter colleagues take vacation, which allows him to take time off to train.

“No I’m working tomorrow so… But, I also, you know, I have days off. I have vacation days and stuff. And I was pretty lucky at the place in November because a lot of guys don’t take a lot of time off, so it’s easier for me to take time off that time of year,” the 41-year-old said.

Miocic attributed this sincerity and humility to his mother and father and credited them for raising him right. “Well my Mom raised me right and my dad. And while Jon Jones may have recently joked in a press conference, that Miocic may want to take time off to train to face him, the Ohio native seems to have different plans. And, to be fair, this is not entirely bad advice given that he is fighting Jones. Miocic, however, has pointed out that he will continue to serve as a firefighter as he has done all his career.
