“I’m just waiting on UFC whatever the guys want, and whenever the guys want, and against anyone they want, I’ll be there.” That’s what Caio Borralho said during an interview with Inside Fighting. But little did we know that he meant to stick to his words. Even if Dana White and Co. throw fighters like Khamzat Chimaev, Sean Strickland, and Robert Whittaker at him, he claimed that he would be ready, regardless of his relationship with his opponents.
On 10th December, the Brazilian middleweight fighter appeared on the OverDogs Podcast. Needless to say, following the announcement of Dricus Du Plessis’ next title defense against Sean Strickland at UFC 312, no conversation involving a middleweight prospect could go on without a mention of his upcoming fight. Well, ‘The Natural’ repeated his words and declared that he was simply waiting on the UFC to give him a fight. And proceeded to call out his ‘friends.’.
Borralho said, “What I told the UFC is, if you want me to fight Sean, I’m ready. If you want me to fight Khamzat, I’m ready.” Even if the fight was against Whittaker, the Brazilian claimed that he was ready. He continued, “Both Sean and Khamzat are my friends. But when we come in at this level of this sport and in this position of top 5, top 6, one fight away from the title fight, we are not in the position to choose any fight. So, I think everybody will understand. It’s just business, and we’re here to fight. That’s what we do.”

Outside the competition, ‘The Natural’ often stood up for his friends. As Sean Strickland got ready for a battle with Dricus Du Plessis, Borralho put his faith in his former training partner. When the entire fighting community lashed out at ‘Borz’ for pulling out of UFC Riyadh, Borralho was the one who stood in defense of the Chechen fighter. But that didn’t mean the Brazilian could not look up to fighting Strickland and Chimaev in the Octagon. Well, he even revealed how one could claim a victory over ‘Borz.’.

Caio Borralho makes a stunning revelation about Khamzat Chimaev
Following the battle between Whittaker and Chimaev at UFC 308, Borralho broke down the Chechen. Being the #6 middleweight prospect, Borralho is indeed one or two fights away from getting a shot at the title. The same was true for Khamzat Chimaev. This might put Chimaev and Borralho against each other. But how could the Brazilian manage to defeat someone who has never faced a loss?
Talking to Submission Radio, ‘The Natural’ said, “It’s not an easy task to beat Khamzat. He’s very athletic, very good; his wrestling is on point all the time. The key to beating him is to know how to defend his takedowns, to know his patterns before he shoots for a takedown. Because whenever he shoots, it’s almost already gone. So you need to know his patterns and how he prepares himself before he shoots a takedown. If he grabs you, you need to know what his next step is and what he wants you to do, so you don’t do what he wants.”

Borralho has studied the fighting styles of Chimaev from a pretty close perspective. If anyone could win against the Chechen Wolf, it might be ‘The Natural.’ And as far as a matchup between them is concerned, the Brazilian seemed pretty confident that his path would cross that of Chimaev’s one day or the other.
Do you think Borralho can secure wins against Strickland, Chimaev, and Whittaker? Or is there any other fighter who would be a better match for ‘The Natural’? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
