In episode #308 of ‘The Schaub Show’, former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub broke down the UFC 280 outcomes and resultant possibilities. The MMA athlete turned stand-up comic also discussed upcoming fights such as Khamzat vs Colby and Jake Paul vs Anderson Silva. In the same segment, ‘The Sting’ also reacted to Dana White’s post-UFC 280 interview comments about the Irishman.
Brendan Schaub and Conor McGregor’s murky waters
In the episode, ‘The Sting’ delved into the UFC president’s recent confirmation that McGregor was not in the USADA testing pool. As rightly pointed out by the guest, one had to announce retirement to not fall into the testing pool.
Following this, Schaub replied that one had to notify and got tested and as a result they get tired. He added further, “It’s getting murky water whatever yacht Conor’s on. The waters are murky as far as the drug testing goes.”
He then went on to speculate the reason behind the Dublin-born athlete’s absence from the USADA’s pool. The 39-year-old podcast host, particularly, referred to the injury McGregor suffered at UFC 264. Thus, he stated, while impersonating ‘Mystic Mac’, “I’m gonna be doing something to recover. Don’t be testing me. So I’m gonna have to back out.”
Schaub, following this, also sarcastically revealed what might have unfolded. He then added while impersonating, “We’ll make sure you don’t say you’re retired. That wouldn’t scare the fans. And then, once you’re fully recovered, come back into the testing pool. Make sure you’re clean.”
However, he expressed his frustration at the fact that McGregor would remain out of Octagon action for another six months.
