Before his much-anticipated fight with ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’, Jorge Masvidal appeared for an interview in which he talked about many fighters, including Colby Covington and Conor McGregor. However, it was what he said about Tyson Fury that was interesting.
In the conversation with BT Sport, the BMF champion said, “I would love to, love this dude, a Christian brother that goes out there and puts it all on the line. I mean, his story is amazing, I would just love to pick his brains. So that is, and I’m paying, I’m buying the drinks, Tyson.”
‘Gamebred’ clearly seems to respect Fury and all his achievements, and why not? The ‘Gypsy King’ has achieved outstanding success in life, and people often consider Fury as one of the best boxers ever.

Fury is a two-time world heavyweight champion and is only the third boxer to hold The Ring magazine title twice. The fighter has an amazing record of (30-0) in professional boxing and has won 21 of his fights via knockout.
As Masvidal is someone who is looking to win his first UFC title, it would be great if he could pick the brains of someone who has had a great journey and has been a champion. Masvidal clearly thinks so and is even ready to buy drinks if he can just have a sit-down with the boxing legend. It’ll be interesting to see if these two combat personalities get to spend some time together after UFC 261, as it may not be possible to do so before the event.

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ and Masvidal fought before at the UFC 251 event. That time Usman defeated ‘Gamebred’ via a unanimous decision and defended the UFC Welterweight Championship. However, this fight still promises to be a grand affair because of the fighters involved.
Masvidal came in as a substitute in that match. Thus, he felt he did not get enough time to prepare for the champion. However, Usman is confident that he will defeat a fully prepared ‘Gamebred’. In Usman’s defense, he too had to switch tactics as he had trained for Gilbert Burns for his Fight Island title defense. Hence, he will be better than what he was at the Flash Forum.

This fight is going to be really interesting, as both fighters will come in with different mindsets. Usman will look to take the fight deep and showcase his superiority on the mat; Masvidal will hope to get an early knockout.
Who will you back in this fight? If Masvidal wins, could UFC fans see him call Tyson Fury for a celebratory drink?
