Nate Diaz has been quite active on social media lately. The Stockton native has taken to Twitter occasionally to tease former opponent Conor McGregor. Diaz posted yet again. This time it was a video where he took a dig at Dustin Poirier and ‘The Notorious’.
McGregor is currently on the back of two back-to-back losses to Poirier. After getting knocked out in January at UFC 257, the Irish fighter broke his leg at UFC 264, losing the trilogy in the process. However, as he immediately antagonized Poirier inside the Octagon, a fourth fight is expected to take place.
“Don’t trip tho I’ll show you how to do it,” wrote Diaz. He followed it up with a diamond emoji next to a gun sign. The dig was a subtle one from Diaz. “You Should’ve already learned from this,” Diaz had previously written in a deleted tweet, which also had a video of the Irish fighter lauding Diaz’s toughness after their 2016 rematch.

Diaz was supposed to fight Poirier at UFC 230, but that fight had to be called off. Unfortunately, they didn’t share the Octagon at a future date either. Had they fought, it would have been fantastic for the fans to debate over who would have won in a potential matchup.
Poirier has since won the interim lightweight championship, fought for the undisputed belt against Khabib Nurmagomedov, beaten Dan Hooker, and then earned two wins over McGregor.
Diaz has fought 3 times since. He defeated Anthony Pettis at UFC 241 and lost to Jorge Masvidal and Leon Edwards, all in the welterweight division.

McGregor and Diaz have shared the Octagon twice already. Diaz finished the Irishman at UFC 196 after stepping in on short notice. McGregor avenged that loss via decision at UFC 202.
Both men are expected to fight for a third time at some point in time. Their rivalry was hands down one of the biggest in the history of the UFC.
Also, it is a fight fans have been anticipating for a long time. Many have suggested that Diaz will be the one to welcome McGregor back to action once the latter is healed up from his injury. It remains to be seen if this bout will become reality.
