Israel Adesanya, the UFC middleweight champion, is not happy with the way his country has treated MMA fighters lately. ‘The Last Stylebender’ was born in Nigeria but has lived the better part of his life in New Zealand. He has represented the flags of both the countries in the UFC.
In an interview with Brett Okamoto, the middleweight champion, when asked about whether the fight should have been in New Zealand, said, “Not anymore because I boycotted, the, it. I’ll never fight in the Auckland again, or New Zealand.”

Adesanya explained he can ignore the unfairness towards him, as he doesn’t represent New Zealand solely. However, he doesn’t like the intolerance towards his fellow UFC fighter, Dan Hooker. Earlier, ‘The Hangman’ had issues getting back to the country.
‘The Last Stylebender‘ told how other sports teams can easily travel in and out of the country. Even, he gave an example of the Indian Cricket Team that, according to him, got 170 rooms. Whereas, ‘The Hangman‘ was not getting slots for quarantine.
Not only that, Hooker had issues in training, during his fight camps, and the cops warned him not to train, as it was against covid regulations.
Adesanya believes that their country does not take MMA seriously and this will eventually change.
Adesanya also recalled the famous speech he gave back in 2020. Concluding all he said, “I still stand by my words. I’ll rather fight in Australia, give them all that revenue.”
🤔 hhmmm…not that it's anyone's business. But I put the 🇳🇿 on this one, but I'll put the 🇳🇬 on my undisputed one!! 👑👑 https://t.co/GHtG7WR7ZF
