Henry Cejudo retired after he made his first bantamweight title defense against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 in May 2020. At the time, many suspected that his retirement was temporary. However, Cejudo hasn’t returned to the cage despite teasing feuds with multiple champions.
In a current interview with ESPN MMA, the former UFC double champion, Cejudo, spoke about his potential return to the promotion.

When Ryan Clark asked Cejudo what his next move would be, ‘Triple C’ replied, “Straight-up, RC. It’s is to take over the world now. That’s it. You take over the world now. You know, take all the gold, take all the gold, take all the crowns, and take it all, man.”
He added, “What I really want… is that green. Because you know what I’ve earned it. I’ve done it. I’m enjoying myself… If you really want me to fight, show me the money and I will put myself in on that Monday.“

‘Triple C’ indicated that he would only come back to professional fighting when he sees the right amount of money. He has been taking shots at Dana White in hopes of getting a title fight against Alexander Volkanovski or Petr Yan on his return. However, the UFC President didn’t seem keen on that.
Dana White speaks about Henry Cejudo demanding a title shot
White is a cut-throat businessman and is the reason why the UFC is as big as it is today. On hearing about Cejudo’s call-out towards him and the UFC, he completely shut down the idea of ‘The Messenger’ getting a title shot on his return.

In the post-fight press conference after UFC Vegas 46, Dana White said, “I mean, the last time I saw he was retired. And now he’s mad that he didn’t get a title shot? That doesn’t even make sense. In a different weight class? It doesn’t make sense… Come on, man, this is a f**king silly conversation.”
Hence, it doesn’t seem like White is uninterested in seeing ‘The Messenger’ fight. However, it appears as though he wants ‘Triple C’ to prove that he wants to fight before letting him compete for the title.
