Valentina Shevchenko defeated Lauren Murphy at UFC 266 to keep hold of her flyweight title. ‘Bullet’ earned yet another finish on her record and is now on an eight-fight win streak in the UFC. Many fans have been calling for Shevchenko to face double champion and long-time rival, Amanda Nunes next. UFC President Dana White has reacted to those claims.
Also, there have been suggestions from the fans that Murphy didn’t actually deserve to be in there with Shevchenko. White dismissed those claims as he believes Murphy is a tough outing for anybody in the flyweight division of the UFC. He also said that he is open to making the trilogy fight between Nunes and Shevchenko if the fighters are willing to do it.

“She did deserve that shot. She’s a super tough girl. And Valentina went in there and absolutely picked her apart, took her time, seize the moment when it happened. And finish that fight. impressively. She’s awesome. Usually, you wouldn’t do a fight when one of the fighters has already won two of them. But I think enough people want to see that. And if the girls want to do it, I’ll do it,” said White.
However, the UFC President said that Nunes will first have to get past Julianna Pena, who is the mandatory challenger in the bantamweight division at the moment.
