Derrick Lewis is set to take on Ciryl Gane at UFC 265 with the interim heavyweight title on the line. The heavyweight dup will clash in the main event of the pay-per-view this weekend. Ahead of the mega-fight at Lewis’s hometown, the UFC has released a stunning promo for the match-up.
The Houston native is one of the scariest power punchers to touch down on the UFC mat. His record for the most knockouts in the history of the promotion is a testament to the same. However, many believe Gane is the kryptonite for heavy hitters like Lewis. And if the French fighter’s fights so far are anything to go by, those claims can not be denied.

“To me, I am going out there to fight for the real belt. It’s not interim champion I believe, this is the real belt. Because we are fighting in my city, I am all about the belt now baby. Let’s go. You will see the black beast come out of me,” said Lewis in the recent video released by the UFC.
“This is the most important fight in my career. We are coming straight at 100 percent it’s gonna be new heavyweight champion of the UFC,” he added further.

“He’s well-rounded. It looks pretty when he do it you know. But, uh I got that right hand. If I touch him one time I know he’s gonna fold like a French fry. And I’m just lay him out with something,” ‘The Black beast’ concluded.
Can Derrick Lewis add Ciryl Gane to his collection of knockouts?
As mentioned earlier, Gane is a breath of fresh air to the heavyweight division of the UFC. He is undefeated in his professional career in any form of fighting so far. And his style is a treat for the fans to watch.

But, Lewis has that touch of death to sleep anybody with one shot. He doesn’t even need to connect cleanly to knock people out. There have been multiple shreds of evidence of him being dominated in his fights only to come out with a fight-ending shot. If Ciryl Gane becomes his latest victim, remains to be seen.
