Joe Rogan has a resume full of interesting projects. From being a big podcast host and UFC commentator to being a comedian, Rogan has diverse expertise. However, back in the day, he also hosted ‘Fear Factor’ and it might have left an impression on his life.

In episode #1865 of the JRE podcast, Rogan and his guest, Aaron Rodgers, got into a conversation about roaches. The host informed that he had eaten one on the ‘Fear Factor’. In fact, he made some statements that did not convince the guest.

Rogan said, “If I had to eat roaches to stay alive, I’d eat roaches. Like if I was trapped somewhere, I’d eat roaches.”

He revealed the insects didn’t taste bad and that he would rather not starve when in a dire situation, “I’d rather be full.”

The veteran commentator felt he had a distorted perception of food because of ‘Fear Factor’. He said that eating unusual things had a psychological factor to it.

Moving further in the conversation, the MMA analyst also explained how Balut is a delicacy in the Philippines. Hence, the host tried to convince the quarterback that culture also played a big role in the kind of food people ate.

The NFL athlete looked uncomfortable with the discussion but was interested in knowing what all Rogan has eaten. Thus, the host listed out some of the unusual things he has had. This included a sheep’s eyeball, a tomato hornworm, and a live Iraqi cave-dwelling spider.

In addition to this, he also ate a Madagascar hissing cockroach. He felt it didn’t taste like anything. Instead, it tasted bland. It was for a ‘Fear Factor’ episode. Both the personalities even watched a video of Rogan eating the roach.

Rogan said, “If you had to eat a bowl of them to stay alive, it’s not hard.”

However, looking at Rodgers‘ tight smile, Rogan understood his guest wasn’t on the same page. He said, “You’re not convinced.”

Post this, they discussed cricket protein and the 55-year-old analyst spoke about how people consume cricket protein shakes. But, the 38-year-old said, “Well, I ‘m still on the fence.”

Thus, it doesn’t look like Joe Rogan was not successful in convincing Aaron Rodgers about trying out exotic food. What do you think?
