Joe Rogan's parenting style—overprotective or just being a responsible dad in today's crazy world?

If you’ve watched more than one episode of the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’, you’ve surely noticed how vocal the host often gets while speaking on a wide array of issues. In one of the latest episodes, the 56-year-old discussed a few things about fatherhood, and guess what? Joe Rogan claims to be in a rather comfortable spot by being a father of three daughters.

Joe Rogan and his wife, Jessica Ditzel, whom he married almost 15 years ago, have three girls: Rosy, Lola, and Kayja Rose, who is Ditzel’s daughter from her previous relationship with the late Kevin Connor, and the podcaster adopted her. He’s spoken many times about his kids and his family life. However, Rogan’s recent confession on parenting them was intriguing, to say the least, but what did he say? Let’s check that out.

While speaking to journalist and writer Sebastian Junger, Joe Rogan opined that having to deal with sons is rather a difficult task than dealing with daughters. As per his observations, there is a distinguishable difference between boys and girls, and Rogan feels that he’s in a happy spot to have been blessed with three beautiful daughters.

“They’re just different. It’s just women and girls are just different, and me, you know, I think the universe did me a solid by giving me only daughters,” said Joe Rogan on the #2172 episode of JRE. Thereafter, he explained the problems of dealing with boys, including having a fear that they might deviate into the wrong path, while also trying to keep them engaged in combat sports, just like their father.

“You have a different perspective [when parenting daughters]. If I had a son, I’d be like, ‘I gotta keep this f***ing savage out of jail. I am passing my genes. That kid’s gotta go to the gym. I mean, I gotta get you into a jiu-jitsu gym early,” Joe Rogan further stated. Additionally, the 56-year-old emphasized the fact that being the son of a successful father is also a curse because of the pressure that comes with either keeping up with the father’s status or even surpassing them in life.

“Then also you have to deal with the fact that you have a successful father and that puts a lot of pressure on a kid because a lot of kids, they try to measure up to their parents or compete with their fathers in some sort of strange way. With girls, they’re so different. Man, I don’t think I understood until I raised children. I just didn’t understand how different they are,” Joe Rogan added.

Have an interesting take?

Although he seems happy to have daughters, did you know he has an unusual way of dealing with his kids? Let’s have a look at that front.

The JRE host prefers “to be high” around his daughters

Yes, that’s exactly what Joe Rogan said over a year ago. While revealing an unconventional way of parenting, the longtime UFC commentator claimed that he likes to stay in a state of high whenever he’s around his daughters, but why? Well, Rogan claims that it provides him with a different way of learning how his daughters operate, engaging in conversations with them while staying calm in situations where, otherwise, if he had been sober, it would not have been much fun.

People don’t like this, but I’m going to say it, anyway. I like to be high around my children because when I’m around my children I’m fascinated by them and things that may be frustrating perhaps if I was sober instead are charming. I find them interesting and I’m fascinated by their mindset, and talking to them,” Joe Rogan stated.

After hearing what Joe Rogan had to say, his guest appeared to agree with the assessment about parenting boys vs parenting girls. But what do you think about his comments? Do you agree? Let us know in the comments below.
