Fans of the UFC featherweight division will get to experience two of the best fighters in the weight class on April 15th as number four-ranked Arnold Allen takes on former champ Max Holloway at the T-Mobile Center In Kansas City.
Fighting in the main event of an entertaining card, the bout could serve as a title eliminator for the featherweight gold currently held by Alexander Volkanovski. Although interim champion Yair Rodriguez will probably have the first shot at the title, fans can expect the winner between Holloway and Allen to step up next. Addressing this, a former UFC champ also happened to share his honest take on the upcoming fight during a recent show on BT Sport.

Former UFC champ backs Arnold Allen for a title shot
Giving his commentary on next week’s fight card was former middleweight champ, Michael Bisping. The 44-year-old, while making an appearance on BT Sport’s YouTube channel, backed fellow Englishman Allen, to be given a title shot if he could pull off a win against ‘Blessed’.
While showing his support for Allen, Bisping also made sure to point out the massive challenge that the fighter has to go through in the form of Max Holloway. Referring to the former featherweight champ’s losses against Volkanovski, ‘The Count’ noted that the Hawaiian native had a “chip on his shoulder” heading into this crucial fight.
“You’re fighting a world championship quality fighter and a guy that has a chip on his shoulder to prove to the world that I’m still one of the best; and that’s who he’s got to fight just to get the title fight.” Bisping pointed.
The former fighter-turned-analyst added that if Allen does manage to get his hands raised, he should be deservedly given a title shot by the UFC.
“So if he can do it, if he does pull it off, then my word Arnold Allen without question is the next in line,” Bisping stated.
Arnold Allen and Max Holloway to headline an entertaining card
After a series of massive events this year, UFC has another entertaining card lined up for fans. While the main event no doubt promises to be a masterclass, the fights that lead to it are bangers on their own as well. UFC veteran Edson Barboza, a legend in his own right, will be serving as one-half of the co-main as he takes on 34-year-old Billy Quarantillo. If that was not entertaining enough, Pedro Munhoz and veteran Clay Guida are also set to take on their opponents in the main card of the event.
