In an interview with Petesy Carroll, former UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Błachowicz talked about his next targets. One name that stood out was Israel Adesanya. Błachowicz admitted that he has never fought in the middleweight division, but he can cut down the weight and fight Israel Adesanya for the title.

Błachowicz also recalled the time he was entering Muay Thai and fought around the 200-pound weight category. “I remember when I was about to fight in Muay Thai, I fight in 91 kgs. That’s three pounds less than 205. That was my last weight”, Błachowicz said.

Błachowicz sounded very confident about cutting down weight. According to him, if UFC agrees for this fight, he will surely make the weight and challenge for the title. “But people need to believe a little bit more in me. If UfC would like to make this fight, I would do it, no problem. I will do it, it will be great motivation for me. I am ready for doing that”, said Błachowicz.

After defending his middleweight title twice, Israel Adesanya decided to move up and challenge for the light heavyweight title. This was in 2021, and Jan Błachowicz was the champion back then. The two faced at UFC 259.
