UFC 297 is just days away, with Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis set to compete for the middleweight title on the grand stage. The build-up to this match has already witnessed some brash and harsh comments from both fighters. We even saw Strickland crying and letting out his emotions. This surprised everyone, including Israel Adesanya, who stated that Strickland can dish out abuse but can’t take it.

The former middleweight champion, Adesanya said “I saw the brawl and I thought ‘that’s out of character’ but then again, he can dish it but can’t take it.”  about the recent Du Plessis and Strickland brawl. Adesanya emphasized that “Tarzan” likes to talk about others but can’t take it when the shoe is on the other foot. However, Strickland’s recent comments regarding Adesanya’s doubts have cleared everyone’s mind.

After the UFC seasonal press conference in December last year, there have been accusations that Strickland makes comments about others but when it comes to him he gets emotional. Dricus Du Plessis made fun of Strickland by cutting deep into his past and childhood. The South African star not only mocked Strickland but also went as far as suggesting that he would replicate Strickland’s father’s violent and abusive behavior.

Strickland confessed about his emotions at Tho Von’s podcast and broke down there. This allowed Ian Garry as well as Israel Adesanya to make comments about Strickland. Both of these individuals claimed that Strickland could comment about others but when it comes to himself he breaks down. Adesanya even went as far as to term Strickland a “Soyboy”. “I was like ‘quit crying like a b****’ cause he’s making fun of me ‘he’s such a soy boy’ and this and that. It’s just funny.” said Adesanya on his Youtube handle.

However, in a recent press conference, Strickland reminded Adesanya and everyone that he is not like Colby Covington and he can go back to what he is going through. “Here’s the thing, guys. I don’t need to be fucking right. The people, the people. If one day I wake up and like the c*ck Ian Garry’s behest, you think I give a f**k? “

He further added “You think I give a f**k? If I walk down the street and somebody says, ‘Hey, there’s Sean Strickland, f**k him.’ I don’t care, enjoy. But just do it far enough away coz I will hit you. I’m not Colby Covington, bro. I’m not like. I’m not Chris Curtis. I’m not going to leave my fu**ing Twitter. Enjoy, man. Just add punctuation and touch nothing else.” Additionally, he also spoke about the accusations made against him about hypocrisy.

Strickland explained that he makes fun of everybody irrespective of gender or creed and the hypocrite remarks made about him by others are totally baseless. “I just simply said that’s a line that I prefer we didn’t go there. And you guys, I sh*t on everybody.”

He further added “I make fun of your g*y, little pirate earring. … I go hard, man. I made fun of Sean O’Malley’s wife getting f*cked by his buddy. I made fun of the *ck Ian Garry. The difference is, and I was just telling DC this, you went on a podcast and you joked about calling a homie to f*ck your wife. Like, I didn’t go make fun of anything you didn’t joke about. Like, this isn’t traumatic for you. You just said, ‘Hey, I wanted my buddy to f*ck my wife. I wanted to throw her some D.’ I’m not even hating on that.”
