Michael Chandler is currently #6 in the lightweight division of the UFC. He is one of the most prominent lightweight fighters in the promotion. However, like every other professional combat athlete in the world, ‘the Iron’ also has cauliflower ears because of his hard job inside the octagon.
In a recent episode of the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Chandler explained the problems he faces due to the crooked ears. He said, “100 percent yeah, the left one. I will always have cauliflower ears for the rest of my life. I am not gonna get them surgically removed. He added, “More than anything, I wish I could do it now. Because all this thing does get caught on people’s hips and gets caught in shirts. And it gets almost ripped off almost every single time I grapple, and it sticks out. So yeah, it’s not swollen, it’s not anymore swollen. But I have just progressively gotten more and more cauliflower ear inside. These things are rock hard, man.”
Chandler lost his first-ever UFC lightweight at UFC 262. This was his first loss in the promotion and it left him devastated. However, he coped up from the loss with the help of a close one, as he explains in the same interview.
