Unfortunately, despite not being on the UFC 303 card, the current #6 lightweight contender Michael Chandler attended the event as an audience member last night and enjoyed the fights. However, he did not seem happy, as suggested by his post-event interviews where everyone kept asking him about his fight against former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor, which has been on hold for 18 months.

During the interview, Michael Chandler shockingly revealed that Dana White and company hid the exact details of his fight against Conor McGregor until the last moment after his injury.

The cancellation of the fight against “Notorious” hit Micahel Chandler hard. This fight, which was first discussed last year on TUF 31 where Conor McGregor and Chandler coached their teams, was scheduled to happen afterward. However, more than a year later, it’s still halted due to various reasons like McGregor’s Hollywood debut, issues with USADA, and now this injury.

Moreover, in his latest interview after the UFC 303 event, Michael Chandler was asked by the reporter about his initial reaction upon learning of the cancellation of his fight against Conor McGregor. Chandler revealed, “I wasn’t even really informed what it was besides possibly an injury. Right, obviously, they’re not going to-they’re not allowed to tell me what the injury is or how severe it is.”

Chandler added, “But yeah, it’s a tough phone call to get. Obviously, I just put in 10 weeks of solid work away from my family, having the best camp of my life. But hey, this is how it goes, and this is what I signed up for uncertain career path.” Furthermore, in the same interview, Michael Chandler teased that a potential new month for his clash against Conor McGregor could become a reality.
