UFC commentator Joe Rogan is someone who gained a lot of confidence after training in MMA. Rogan is closely associated with the sport in many ways. His rich technical knowledge of MMA comes from his training in several forms of martial arts. The 55-year-old developed an interest in combat sports in his early teens. Ever since Rogan began his martial arts training, he has changed a lot.

The UFC commentator has often mentioned how he was a reckless kid without any sense of discipline or focus. Nonetheless, things changed drastically when Rogan stepped into the world of MMA. In a recent conversation, the former ‘Fear Factor’ host detailed how the sport changed his life completely. Rogan also talked about his tremendous transformation from a “scary kid” to a “super focused” teenager.

The UFC commentator was talking on an episode of Oil and Whiskey. During the conversation, Rogan mentioned how MMA changed his life for the better. He said, “Like almost immediately, like my parents talk about it like what I was like before I started fighting and then when I started fighting like. When I started doing martial arts when I really got into it, I was like my mom talks about it.”

Rogan added, “It’s like I was two different people I was this wild, scary kid it was just reckless and angry and then all of a sudden super focused and super disciplined and so I realized very early on because like martial arts was the first thing that I ever did where I realized like hey maybe I’m not a loser.Rogan detailed how martial arts gave him a new life. He emphasized that training can help a person to have a better lifestyle. For Rogan, the sport helped develop both his mental and physical well-being.

The reason behind Rogan’s entry into combat sports

Rogan is highly famous as a podcaster. In his post, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, the UFC commentator often talks about his personal experiences that changed his life. On the #1929 episode of JRE, the 55-year-old sat with comedian Louis C.K. During the conversation between the two, the former podcaster detailed the reason behind his entry into mixed martial arts.

When Rogan was a young teen, a boy from his school attacked him in the locker room. The boy caught Rogan in a headlock and later threw the commentator on the ground. Soon, he decided not to punch Rogan, as he was weak. Rogan felt so humiliated when the boy insulted him. That’s a day that made Rogan realize the importance of self-defense.
