Days after the fight, Dariush appeared in an interview with Submission Radio, where he offered his candid thoughts on the bout. He admitted to watching the fight back and acknowledged that it wasn’t his best performance.
‘Benny’ couldn’t pinpoint the exact reason for his subpar showing but refrained from making excuses, opting to credit Oliveira for being the superior fighter that night.
“I watched it back and I just know that’s not the best version of me. Don’t know for whatever reason that day, I was not on… I can’t explain it, I’m not gonna give too many excuses because I don’t want to take from Charles. He was the better man that night. He had a great victory but that was definitely not the best version of me.”

Looking ahead, the lightweight fighter expressed his determination to bounce back and remind the world of his capabilities. Moreover, Dariush acknowledged that people tend to forget quickly and his plan is to return to the octagon and showcase his skills, and reinforce why he is still considered a formidable contender.

“The only thing I can really do is have another fight show the world that why I was considered such a contender. Because people forget very quickly and so I just I’ll go back out there and remind people who I am.”
