UFC strawweight Cheyanne Buys returns to action at UFC Vegas 33 against Gloria de Paula in a prospect vs prospect match-up. Buys is coming off a loss to Montserrat Ruiz in her last fight and she wants to return to winning ways. She sat down at the press conference ahead of her upcoming bout but she fielded some questions about Ruiz.

Chiefly, Cheyanne Buys and ‘Conejo’ Ruiz got into a bitter spat after their fight when Buys claimed that Ruiz spat on her. In the immediate aftermath of the incident, Cheyanne Buys dropped an all-time classic line that fans immediately got behind her. Buys threatened to ‘Follow’ Ruiz home and exact vengeance for her disrespectful act.

Cheyanne Buys: Holding on to grudges

The 5-2 fighter in Buys is certainly not ready to let go of the incident and she wants to settle the score against Ruiz. Speaking to the media, she had some fiery words for Montserrat Ruiz, and the beef between both women it real. In fact, there’s a very strong possibility that they could throw down on sight the next time they see each other.

“The staff was on my a*s as soon as I left that cage. The thing that was disgusting was obviously the girl spat at me and called me a f’ing pu*a but not even her coaches shook my hand or my coach’s hand, you know. They’re all cowards in my eyes for the night and no I didn’t get to follow her [home] but when I see her, she better step up.”

“I’m a 100% real. I’m human. If you disrespect me like that when I gave you nothing but respect, you bet you a*s I want to slap the sh*t out of you. What pisses me off the most is that you shook my hand at weigh-ins, knowing damn well what you were going to do after the fight.”

Cheyanne Buys has the potential to become a household name as fans will definitely take to her fiery persona. Not to mention, she’s shown herself to be scrappy in the cage, and building up a streak will bring her some recognition. A statement win against Gloria de Paula will go a long way in bringing more eyes onto the potential 115-pound top prospect.
