Former UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, shared an emotional message recently. ‘The Eagle’ is currently retired from the sport of MMA. However, the undefeated Dagestani has created an unmatched legacy for him. His unbelievable record of 29-0 will be hard to match for anybody anytime soon.
“You know why I want to be free because I’m Eagle I want to fly just fly, fly, when my time come, I’m gonna die. You know, but before my time comes, I want to be fly you know, I want to be free I want to do whatever I want,” said Nurmagomedov.

“You know I want to spend time with my family friends with my people you know, I want to live in my village because even if you have all warmed you’re gonna die. Everything is gonna be finished one day a couple people gonna come to grave put you inside there and finish you know, and for life I don’t need I don’t need like too much,” he added.
“You know, even, even if you are billionaire, you’ll never eat more than one bread in one day. You know? I want, I want to be free. I want to fly and I want to do whatever I want. Whatever I need, whatever I need when I die because I really believe the next life,” Nurmagomedov said further.
Family issues forced Khabib Nurmagomedov to retire
The Russian retired from the sport after successfully defending his belt at UFC 254. He endured a difficult 2020. The passing of his father and mentor, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, played a major role in his decision.

‘The Eagle‘ realized there is more to life than fighting. He believes family is more important than his career at the moment. Also, one might argue he has established his legacy in the sport. There is no doubt he will be remembered as one of the greatest ever to grace the Octagon. ‘The Eagle’ now works as a coach and mentor for his teammates and training partners.
