Sean O’Malley and Conor McGregor seem to have buried the hatchet! The UFC bantamweight champion had found himself getting caught in the cross-fire when ‘The Notorious’ blasted boxer Ryan Garcia in a heated social media rant for testing positive for a banned substance after his victory over Devin Haney on April 20. As such, in a since-deleted post on X, McGregor stated, “I am actually disgusted. This ostarine it reminds me of Sean o malley was on that as well.”

This prompted a response from O’Malley on an episode of the ‘TimboSugarShow’ podcast where he had stated, “F*ck Conor… I was more sad than mad.” But now, it appears that things seemed to have cooled off between the pair as ‘Sugar’ recently revealed that the ‘beef’ has now come to an end after a conversation between the two!

The ‘beef’ between Sean O’Malley and Conor McGregor stemmed from the Irish MMA icon claiming that Ryan Garcia’s positive test for the banned substance, Ostarine, was reminiscent of O’Malley’s issues with USADA with the same. In 2018 and 2019, O’Malley had been suspended by the NSAC (Nevada State Athletic Commission) after he tested positive for Ostarine which was later ruled to be the result of consuming tainted supplements.

Nevertheless, McGregor didn’t hold back on O’Malley and Garcia in his now-deleted, unfiltered rant, where he invited both of them to a “spar” and stated, “Let’s spar O’Malley and Garcia, two little ostarine heads. I’ll ride you both like yous are ostriches.”

And this led to O’Malley later responding on an episode of the ‘TimboSugarShow’ podcast by claiming that he is no longer a fan of the Irish superstar as he stated that he wants to, “…see Michael Chandler absolutely just sleep him.”

But despite his strong initial reaction, it appears that ‘Sugar’ couldn’t stay angry at his idol any longer! In a recent clip from the podcast, O’Malley responded positively when asked if he and McGregor were, “good now?”. He stated, “Yeah, we talked… no, I tried to hate Conor for a few days..f*ck… but it didn’t work. I’m still a fan. Dude, Conor’s the f**king man”

The reconciliation between O’Malley and McGregor is significant, given their shared history of mutual respect, and the UFC bantamweight champion has often spoken about his admiration for McGregor, noting that the Irish fighter inspired his MMA career.

For now, it seems O’Malley and McGregor have moved past their disagreement, but what about a possible clash inside the Octagon between the two? Here’s what Sean O’Malley had to say about taking on ‘The Notorious!

O’Malley is willing to move up to lightweight to take on McGregor

A fight between Sean O’Malley and Conor McGregor has the potential to be a landmark event for the UFC. Speaking on Bradley Martyn’s ‘Raw Talk’ podcast, ‘Sugar’ revealed that while he is content to stay “in his lane” and focuses on “realistic” opponents when considering moving up from the bantamweight division, he can’t deny the allure of a fight against ‘The Notorious’.

He stated, “I could go up to 145; I’d fight [Alexander Volkanovski], I’d fight Max [Holloway], I’d fight Ilia [Topuria], but I stay in my lane.” However, the idea of a chance at a McGregor fight may prove tempting enough for him to challenge the Irish MMA superstar in a higher weight class.
