MMA fighters put their bodies on the line throughout their active career. Significantly, the risk of sustaining career-threatening injuries always looms larger for athletes. Although the fighters try their level best to stay injuries free, the injuries eventually catch up to them. The former UFC star Forrest Griffin went through an injury once that looked like a Van Gogh art piece to him.

The UFC legend appeared on Paddy Pimblett’s growing podcast, Chattin Pony Podcast. The duo discussed the former UFC champion’s UFC career highlights, the hardest part of training, and the Brit’s UFC experience.

Toward the end of the video, ‘The Baddy’ took some fans’ questions and asked the same of the eminent guest. One of those fans curiously inquired about the worst MMA and non-MMA-related injuries the UFC Hall of Famer sustained in his life.

Forrest Griffin and his ‘Van Gogh’ injury

In reply to the question, Griffin stated that his worst MMA injury was probably on his shoulder. Adding further, the Columbus-born fighter confessed, “My worst non-related, uh, MMA injury was when I was doing power cleans and I ripped my t**ticle in half and then the losing my left n*t.”

The answer threw the host, Paddy Pimblett, off his chair and he exclaimed “what” in surprise.

Following this reaction, the 19-7 record holder continued and stated that the incident dated back to when he was 14. The American fighter had to work out with the juniors and seniors due to his big size and then tried to power clean his body weight, which was an estimated 185 pounds.

However, the Xtreme Couture team representative didn’t know what to do and couldn’t speak up about the excessive weight. Further, Griffin added, “So I just started trying to lift it and I just heard a rip like somebody ripping off the sleeves of a T-shirt. And then I realized that, that was my abdominal wall and my body just kind of closes.

In addition, the light-heavyweight fighter recalled that it felt like somebody dumped cold water on his crotch. Still, the fighter didn’t want to mention the same to anybody. As he found it embarrassing because of his “softball” size t**ticles.

Finally, Griffin had to go to the doctor as he had trouble straightening up.

Lastly, he concluded, “They ended up cutting my t**ticle out cause it just came unraveled, you know the semen tubes, whatever it was just like, a, there’s just like a, you know, Van Gogh piece of art.
