When the image gained traction, Ortega had an amusing tweet in the store. The featherweight fighter’s relationship with Cortez became public knowledge in 2020 and since then, the pair made various appearances together. The pair were also engaged at one point. But the pair soon ran into hiccups, as the rumors of their split turned the fans’ heads earlier this year. While the exact reason for their split is not known, the latest tweet by ‘T-City’ drops a clue.
The #3 ranked featherweight wrote, “Everyone out here talking bout I fumbled. Y’all must not know the rules of the game. When you drop the ball on accident that’s a fumble , but when you throw it away on purpose. That’s called a complete pass . Top G shit!“

As expected, these comments didn’t sit well with Cortez, who advised him to not throw shade at her.

In her tweet, the 10-1 record holder mentioned how she was yet to say anything negative about Ortega or put his name to shame. Therefore, she expected reciprocity from the American fighter.
Let me just say that to this day, I’ve yet to say anything negative about you or bash your name! Don’t start throwing shade now 😂😂 I’m blessed 🙏🏽😌#MoveWithLove 🫶🏽
