Dana White‘s Power Slap is just not getting out of trouble. The Power Slap has been called out by fans for many reasons. White has been defending Power Slap, calling the current scenario around Power Slap a Déjà vu from his time starting the UFC. The former NSAC chairman’s statements may lead to further trouble for the new controversial promotion. Dana White has been hugely tilted on the social media numbers for his recent venture.
In the past, Power Slap has been under criticism for reasons like negligence toward athlete safety. The pay that is on offer has also been a topic of concern for fans. A long-time senator had earlier criticized the promotion claiming “Traumatic brain injury isn’t entertainment”.

NSAC chairman’s comment may hurt Dana White’s Power Slap
According to AP News, the former NSAC chairman has now accepted that he might have made a mistake sanctioning the Power Slap during his tenure as chairman. Stephen J.Cloobeck said, “I made a mistake,” he further added, “I’m not happy about it.”
This will come as a blow for Dana White, who has been firefighting the media allegations and comments from experts. There have been consistent calls of concern around Power Slap’s safety standards for athletes. The promotion has also been under the scanner for pay-related issues.

With all these concerns around the League, the promotion has now reached the season finale for the first season. The UFC boss is taking heart in the social media viewership as he sees the league as a promotion that can flourish in the social media space in its short format.

Dana White’s defense of Power Slap
Dana White has been defensive of all allegations that have come towards his promotions. On the safety issue, his argument was Power Slap is far less injury prone as the number of blows an athlete took was drastically lesser than boxing. He has been claiming that these allegations were hurled at him even when he first started with the UFC.

He has been the stalwart who has made Power Slap being a widely watched sport with a format similar to The Ultimate Fighter. The social media numbers have been good, but the viewership on television has not been so encouraging. With so many blows coming his way, the 53-year-old will be thinking of ways to turn the tide in favor of his new venture.
