Dana White and the UFC have long faced accusations of underpaying fighters and mistreating them, with exploitative conditions and contracts. And the recent Antitrust lawsuit brought against the promotion, which has been given a class status and fast-tracked by a Nevada court will prove the truth of the matter.

And in a conversation on the JAXXON PODCAST, former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley talked about how Dana White and the UFC stiffed them when they were injured.

‘Rampage’ told Woodley that he got injured after his loss to Ryan Bader in their light heavyweight fight at UFC 144 in 2012. And after he informed Dana White about his injury. The UFC boss went out and publicly questioned Jackson’s commitment and resolve to fight. This, according to the 45-year-old is what made him fall out of love with fighting.

“I think I fell out with Dana when I lost to Ryan Bader in Japan. I got injured before that fight and I called Dana right away. I said ‘Man, I got a partial tear in my meniscus.’ He said ‘What are you gonna do?’ I said ‘S*** man, it’s Japan. I still wanna fight.’…So I went there and I fought, and I lost by decision. First thing Dana [does] in the press conference is like ‘I don’t know what’s going on with Rampage. I don’t think he has it, I don’t think he wants it anymore.’ And I was like, man. That’s when after all this sh** Dana did to me, that’s when… like I lost my love for fighting right there,” the Memphis native said.

Woodley narrated his own negative experience with the UFC CEO. After Woodley got injured during his win over Demian Maia at UFC 214, White would tell the press that Woodley was not a draw and fans did not want to see him fight.

“The same way you feel right now, I had the–you’re still burning a little bit, right? [Dana knew] good and well, I f***ing told [him]. But now you’re gonna sit here and – You know good and well I told you I tore my labrum against Demian Maia, and you just told everybody that nobody wants to watch me fight,” ‘The Chosen One’ said.

‘Rampage’ and Woodley are not the first fighters to be upset with how White and the UFC handled their careers. Nor will they be the last. MMA fans hope that the UFC lawsuit will help fighters get their fair shares.
