One of the most remarkable performances by Michael Jai White is his portrayal of Mike Tyson. Jai White played the role of the heavyweight boxing legend in the 1995 movie ‘Tyson.’ Michael Jai White, who is a passionate MMA practitioner, pours the same passion into the movies he is a part of. ‘Tyson’ is one of the earliest movies by Jai White, in which he tried his best to play the role of ‘Iron Mike.’ The movie tried to portray the real life of Tyson, which included instances from his troubled childhood to the legal complications he faced as a legendary boxer.

The movie took inspiration from Jose Torres’ book, ‘Fire and Fear: The Inside Story of Iron Mike Tyson’. The best person to give an honest opinion about the movie is Mike Tyson himself. Unfortunately, Tyson was largely disappointed with the Uli Edel movie. He even went on to say that his biopic was garbage. He felt that the film was really bad, but he appreciated Michael Jai White for his brilliant performance. After coming across the disappointing comment from the legendary boxer, Jai White made a confession about what went wrong.

In a two-year-old interview, Michael Jai White talked to DJ Vlad about Tyson’s opinion of his movie. Jai White confessed about his conversation with ‘Iron Mike’ and what didn’t feel right for him. The ‘Blood and Bone’ actor said, “I talked to him briefly when he got out. I talked to him briefly about the movie and he was telling me some of the problems he had with the movie and it was like I was trying to explain a few things. I know he had an issue with Don King’s adopted son.”

Jai White further added, “He was telling me that but he had a broken arm or a broken leg during the Spinks fight and I told him well we know but if we would have put him in a cast, we’d have to explain that and it wasn’t really a big part of the story but mike said well but it didn’t happen that way… I was trying to explain how there’s sometimes this dramatic license.” Michael Jai White detailed how Tyson wanted the movie to be exactly the same as his life.

The Hollywood star was once scared

Michael Jai White once talked about how Mike Tyson scared him at an event. ‘Iron Mike’ and the ‘Falcon Rising’ actor met each other at Comic-Con. Soon afterwards, the boxing legend questioned Jai White by asking whether he was walking around saying terrible things about him.

At first, Jai White was terrified, as he had no idea if Tyson was joking. The Hollywood star mentioned that he finds it hard to tell if Tyson is joking because he has a unique sense of humor. At first, he felt that Tyson would be serious, as he had played his role in a movie. However, later, the two laughed about the incident.
