‘Mystic Mike’ has spoken. While a lot has been said since the conclusion of UFC 291, Michael Chandler remains focused on his fight against Conor McGregor. He remains hopeful of a fight against the Irishman ever since Dana White announced him as a coach for TUF season 31. Despite his opponent’s troubles with USADA and flirtations with other fighters, ‘Iron’ knows he will lay hands on ‘The Notorious’ soon. Beaming with confidence, he sees a result that might upset the McGregor fans.

Ever since the announcement of their fight, fans and pundits alike have questioned McGregor’s zeal to fight. Further, his recent obsession with Justin Gaethje has the fans worried about whether he will snub Chandler. “I’m the real bmf… I’m in it to launch shots, f*ck chandler, you [Justin Gaethje] want it call for it,” the ‘Mystic Mac’ declared.
However, Chandler, far removed from these shenanigans, is confident of facing McGregor. Moreover, the 37-year-old believes a bleak outcome awaits his opponent, as he channeled his inner ‘Mystic Mike’.
Michael Chandler predicts a ghastly result for Conor McGregor
The former Bellator champion appeared in an interview with ESPN MMA and touched upon his much-awaited fight against McGregor. The rumors have it that McGregor is ready to ditch Chandler. Debunking those rumors, the lightweight fighter cleared the air as he said, “Yes, it’s going to be McGregor and Chandler.”
There is some behind-the-scenes work yet to be done as the details about the date and the weight division have yet to be chalked out. Notably, the Irish fighter has added bulk to his frame ever since a horrible injury against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 put him on a shelf. Some fans have even speculated about a fight at welterweight. But the details hold little relevance to Chandler as he specified his intention to leave his opponent flatlined.

“Not sure when that fight is going to be. Don’t even know what weight class it’s going to be. But either way, it’s going to happen and I knock him out in the first two rounds. That’s it. That’s it. No ifs or buts about it,” Chandler continued.
The biggest hurdle in their destined faceoff remains the USADA, as McGregor has yet to admit himself to the testing pool. Nevertheless, the fans and Chandler are hopeful of an exemption and, thus, of an exciting fight between them.
