The UFC is inarguably the biggest fight promotion of MMA in today’s world. Over the last decade, the UFC has seen both its popularity and viewership increase by leaps and bounds. It has provided fans with some of the most memorable fights in the entire history of MMA. But, in the UFC, fighting doesn’t stay limited to the cage. There have been furious backstage altercations and pre-fight staredown brawls which draw even more attention to this company. UFC president Dana White was an aspiring boxer himself, hence it’s understandable that he has employed individuals like Joe Rogan who know to fight, for even the non-fighting positions in the company.

Recently, a Facebook reel surfaced which narrates an incident of the UFC Fight announcer, Bruce Buffer, getting into a fight with a UFC Middleweight fighter.

Bruce Buffer chose his hands over presenting his cheek

The video was uploaded on Facebook by a content creator named ‘Troy Robert’. He went on to describe the entire incident, along with how exactly Buffer got into the fight.

Roberts started off by saying that this brawl actually happened in June 2006 while the UFC was filming for “The Ultimate Fighter in Las Vegas”.

He mentioned that “After a long day of filming, Bruce Buffer strolled into an elevator at the Hard Rock casino where he saw former middleweight Frank Trigg and UFC president Dana White having a friendly conversation“.

But soon things heated up as Buffer appreciated Dana White’s watch. Buffer’s appreciation seemingly interrupted Frank Trigg’s conversation with Dana White which really annoyed him. Frank Trigg karate-chopped Bruce Buffer under his annoyance.

Bruce started an altercation with Trigg asking, “Why the f**k did you do that to me?” to which Trigg replied, “What are you gonna do about it?”

Roberts explained that Bruce had two options: let it go or duke it out with a ranked UFC fighter. But instead of turning the other cheek, Buffer decided to go with his hands. He said, “I just reacted boom boom and then it was on”.

The two reportedly brawled for ten floors before the elevator doors finally opened.

Buffer proved to Dana White that he was worthy of the UFC

Both Dana White and Frank Trigg admitted the fact that “Bruce can actually fight”. The two, strangely, shook hands right after this fight, and as Dana White said, “Bruce went to the hospital to get some stitches”. Buffer went on to say, “One positive thing that came out of it was, Dana White got to see he doesn’t have a wimp announcing his fighters in the octagon.”
