From the squared circle to the silver screen, Dwayne Johnson has conquered it all! Many consider the first third-generation wrestler to be one of the greatest wrestlers to step into the ring. Being incredibly popular on WWE aided Johnson in making it to Hollywood. However, ‘The Rock’ was not the first to switch boats. Pro wrestlers like John Cena and Hulk Hogan have followed a similar suit and made their millions.
The 51-year-old made his feature film debut in 2001’s “The Mummy Returns” and reprised the role in “The Scorpion King.” After becoming a regular in movies, Johnson finally found fame with franchises like the “Fast and the Furious” series, G.I. Joe, to name a few. It’s obvious that “The Rock” made the most of this crossover. However, contradicting all this glory, one UFC fighter says it can “jeopardize” things for athletes and fighters.
In a recent podcast, Israel Adesanya gave his two cents on the idea of making it big – into Hollywood. Dismissing any such notions of a crossover anytime soon, he spoke his heart out about his plans, if he does in fact, decide to switch gears.

Turning down the ‘Glitz and Glam’: Israel Adesanya’s commitment to fighting career
In a recent podcast interview with FLAGRANT, the ‘Stylebender’ sat down with well-known comic Andrew Schulz. The duo disseminated ‘Izzy’s perspective on the allure of Hollywood and the potential for a crossover into the world of movies.
However, Adesanya made it clear that he has no immediate plans to pursue an acting career, focusing instead on his passion for fighting. The Kiwi declared – “Yesterday’s price is not today’s price. But no – it’s not even about that. For me, it’s about the moments and capturing everything, but first is fighting.”

He emphasized that his priorities lie elsewhere, rooted in the importance of cherishing every moment and devoting himself to the world of combat sports. Contrary to the path chosen by athletes like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who has found tremendous success in Hollywood, Izzy revealed that he has turned down several opportunities to star in major motion pictures, “I’ve already turned down – trust me, like I think three major Motion Pictures because I had fights booked…”
He further asserted, “I’m not gonna be that guy that just like goes through acting and then like loses what I’m doing with fighting…”
‘Izzy’ acknowledges the allure of Hollywood and added that he could pursue ventures like motion capture or voiceovers. Nonetheless, he remains dedicated to fighting and envisions a future with opportunities beyond the UFC.
