Francis Ngannou is now closer than ever to making his first-ever title defense at UFC 270. The UFC heavyweight champion will take on the interim UFC heavyweight champion, Ciryl Gane, in the main event of the card. Although both men will have an eye on the fight, ‘The Predator’ is focused on something else.

Ahead of his upcoming fight at UFC 270, the Cameroonian had a huge announcement for fans. Ngannou revealed that he would be converting half the money he earned from the fight into bitcoin.

“After learning more and more about bitcoin, I truly believe it is the future of money…Bitcoin has the ability to empower people all over the world and that’s why I’m excited to partner with Cash App to give some of my fans the opportunity to own some bitcoin of their own,” Ngannou stated (via his agent Marquel Martin).

“Bitcoin is the future, and I hope to help lead the way in Africa,” he added. (per Ariel Helwani substack.)

The interviewer questioned Ngannou if it is safe to say he will re-sign with the UFC once his contract is up. To that, the fighter replied, “From where we are, nothing is safe to say.”
