Post the event, it even got some attention on the sidelines because of some accusations against UFC head honcho Dana White.

Soon after the fight, the ‘Funk Master’ surfaced a post on X. He rather had an optimistic note to share with the fans. The fight’s huge stature was surely vital for both fighters. However, Sterling’s loss didn’t become the reason for discouragement since he portrayed his positive side to the fans. The post had a caption that stated, “I’m more than alright. I have everything I need right here!”  Two of the images followed the caption posted by ‘Aljo’ with his partner and his teammates. He seemingly appeared happy while posing with his team.

The bout was crucial for Sterling, since it could have proved to be his fourth title defense. Not only that, ‘Aljo’ was eying to transition into a new weight category so that he could challenge featherweight champion Alexander ‘The Great’ Volkanovski. But destiny had other plans, as O’Malley defeated Sterling and became the brand-new bantamweight enforcer.

How did Aljamain Sterling fall prey to O’Malley?

Sean O’Malley and Aljamain Sterling have had a rocky history. Although they have been respectful towards one another, the two had never taken a shine to one another. The bout between them was crucial for both sides. However, after an intense beef and a history of shooting social media salvos at one another, the match concluded in favor of O’Malley.

Sterling, who was looking strong before the fight, fell prey to a fusillade of strikes from ‘Sugar’, who later on prevailed in the bout. Many predicted that Sterling would successfully defend his championship for a fourth time in light of his impressive prior victories. Even more intriguing was the finish, which came just in the 2nd round. O’Malley’s vicious right hand caught ‘Aljo’ off guard, resulting in him getting floored, and this was followed by a barrage of brutal blows that brought triumph for the challenger.
