Jorge Masvidal has been a mainstay in the mixed-martial arts domain for nearly two decades. Throughout his illustrious career, the 38-year-old UFC fighter has faced a plethora of fearsome foes. Despite having witnessed so much in the MMA world, Masvidal still finds himself at unease around a 27-year-old UFC prospect, Bo Nickal. The former Penn State wrestler made his MMA debut with Masvidal’s promotion and recently aced through his UFC debut with a rather controversial victory at UFC 285.
Masvidal himself, a substantially experienced fighter and over a decade older than Nickal, is not willing to train with him much, owing to the fact how good Nickal is. The 38-year-old Miami-native recently mentioned this to Joe Rogan during his appearance on the podcast and revealed why it is a ‘problem’ to train with Bo Nickal.

During the episode #137 of the JRE MMA Show, Joe Rogan sat down with the UFC welterweight star Jorge Masvidal, who expressed his experience of training with the three-time NCAA wrestling champ Bo Nickal. The 38-year-old said, “That’s another f*cking problem… I’m a huge fan of the the guy, I’ve been watching him since his freshman year. But I hate when this motherf**ker goes with me on the mat. He continued, “He’s so good already on the ground… That’s a very studious guy, too. He, obviously the wrestling is his f**king second nature… I was talking to his mom once, he had like 85 wrestling matches before the agent night.”
Having said that, this has made many curious to know what’s it actually like to train with Bo Nickal.

Masvidal, “He’ll either submit you, or just that whole round you lost because you’re not getting away from this guy, you know. Mix in with the hands he’s starting to develop, because the kid has natural power.”
“He hits, it hurts, man.”
