Ronda Rousey has left an impact on woman’s MMA as no other female athlete can. She asserted her dominance inside the octagon with her performances. Moreover, she was a massive PPV draw as well. The former bantamweight champion was an icon to many.

However, her MMA career didn’t end on the note she would have wished. Rowdy lost her belt to Holly Holm at UFC 193 and it had a massive effect on her. The former champion spoke about her suicidal thoughts on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’.

Rousey received huge support at the time from her fans and the public in general. Furthermore, the fact that her father had passed away due to suicide.

However, with the passage of time, the narrative of the entire incident changed. Instead of receiving praise for opening up, like she previously did, Rowdy received criticism for not taking the loss well. Moreover, recently Sean Strickland spoke about the same issue on his social media.

Why Sean Strickland hates Ronda Rousey?

Strickland took to his Instagram to upload a video where he explained why he hates Rousey. In the video, the UFC fighter started off by stating that he hates podcasts because people take his words out of context. He then went on a rant over Rousey’s suicidal thoughts post-UFC 193.

Strickland said, “I explained why I hate Ronda Rousey, why I find she is everything that’s wrong with the f*cking world.” Referring to her appearance on the Ellen show, he continued, “I don’t know when suicide became cool but it became cool, like they made a Netflix show ‘13 Reasons.’”

“Everybody’s f*cking depressed, everybody is suicidal, and let me f*cking tell you guys, it is not f*cking cool.”

Moreover, he added that Rousey used it as a means to show herself strong, which according to Strickland she isn’t. 

He said, “I hate Ronda Rousey because she used something so fu**ed up and so serious as a ‘but I overcame it’ strong moment, when it’s f*cking not.”

Strickland is known to make statements that offend the sentiments of many. However, the middleweight has no filter and says what he wants to. Nevertheless, there are also fans who appreciate his honesty and openness as well.

On the professional front, the middleweight is coming off a loss against Alex Pereira at UFC 276. ‘Tarzan’ lost via a knockout in the first round itself. However, many fans loved his press-conference.

Regardless, he remains a big contender within the division.
