Power Rangers actor Jason David Frank died at 49. The Green Ranger’s iconic role as “Tommy” in the Power Rangers franchise remains deeply engraved in the hearts of the viewers. The American actor was renowned to have pursued his passion for mixed martial arts. He was a lifelong martial artist and also wanted to break into the UFC later in his career.

Frank’s manager revealed his curiosity about fighting a former WWE star. And, later, the star admitted himself and urged his fans to organize the event, which sadly did not manifest.
Jason David Frank wanted to fight CM Punk
Jason David Frank was a brilliant actor and a gem of a mixed martial artist. Frank revealed his interest in facing CM punk, of WWE fame in the UFC. Frank’s manager Brian Butler said, “Jason’s actually been kind of toying with the idea of fighting CM Punk for over a year now,” in a 2014 interview with FOX Sports.
Butler also stated that the Green Ranger wanted to test his skills in one of the most competitive divisions in UFC.

“I got a text message from Jason right away saying ‘he wants to fight at middleweight, too, I’d love to do it, he got away from me’ just kind of joking around. But actually it makes a lot of sense.”
On his Facebook page, the actor himself wrote, “I have to do this and wake up the UFC,” “I like CM, this is just a professional call out again. This is my life and I deserve a shot at this. Haters hate, winners win. It’s a great fight, embrace, don’t hate.”
The actor urged his fans to organize a bout between him and CM Punk. He wanted them to spread the word till it reached UFC boss, Dana White.
The Green Ranger had a passion for MMA
Many stars find the UFC to be a fad to get into after a certain point in their career. But that was not the case with the Power Rangers actor.

He was a talented mixed martial artist. Jason David Frank pursued his interest in MMA fighting and raked up four wins at a local tournament in Texas and Virginia. He also competed against Carlos Horn at a UWC event in May 2010.
