To a casual fight fan, MMA is synonymous with the UFC, and they hardly know that there are other good MMA promotions as well, promoting talented fighters. Hardcore MMA fans are well-versed in the fact that there are fighters in Bellator and ONE Championship who hold the same mettle as fighters in the UFC. However, due to a lack of opportunity or other circumstances, these fighters never got the chance to test their skills against a UFC-signed athlete.

Among such fighters is Bellator Star Michael ‘Venom’ Page, who has served the promotion for almost a decade. Currently, the hottest free agent in the market, MVP is exploring his options and assessing potential promotions where he could end up.

Michael ‘Venom’ Page recently appeared on the FREESTYLEBENDER YouTube channel and talked to self-proclaimed uncrowned 145lb Champion David Adesanya, brother of UFC champion Israel Adesanya, about free agency and which promotions he could potentially end up in. Their conversation revolved around MVP’s potential future in the UFC and how he envisioned his debut unfolding if it happens.

MVP was asked if he would be willing to take things slow and get his feet wet in the UFC by fighting an unranked opponent. “I want top five, top ten max,” Page said, “I don’t feel like I need to, I don’t need to prove myself all over again. I don’t need to do that,” underscoring that his experience as a fighter is at a top level.

MVP envisions a UFC debut like Michael Chandler

The Bellator star has made it clear that he doesn’t need to “prove himself” if he joins the UFC and has demanded a top-five or top-ten opponent straight away. Viewing his probable UFC appearance as someone like former Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler, MVP said,

“You know, we’ve seen it with the likes of Michael Chandler. He went in there, you know, he fought, you know, a top ten at the time, Dan Hooker – great, you know, great first win for him that just sprung him into title contention. That is the route I see myself in. I don’t see it in any other way.”

While highlighting that his absence from the MMA scene isn’t prolonged, MVP stated that he has no yearning for a preliminary bout, a warm-up encounter. MVP added, “I don’t need a warm-up fight. I don’t need that. It’s not like I’ve been out of the game for ages. I’ve, you know, I’m ready to go now.”

It remains to be seen if the UFC will be willing to accommodate him. However, it’s clear that Page is confident in his abilities and believes that he can make an immediate impact in the UFC.
