It would be safe to say that Elon Musk and Joe Rogan are friends. The billionaire has appeared on “The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast six times. And every time he was over, it proved to be an information overload for Rogan. Always awestruck by Musk’s visionary ideas, Rogan still tries to wrap his head around how one man can be running several globally impacting projects at the same time, and still be on top of his game.
But it was in the episode with Hollywood filmmaker Peter Berg that Rogan spoke about how much he truly admires Musk. Well, he was more awestruck at the tech mogul finding time for things other than the various companies he heads. It’s quite uncanny that the world’s richest man finds time for gaming, and propping up governments, amid his busy schedule as the head of many prominent companies out there. But then, do you remember his feud with Mark Zuckerberg and how that ‘fight’ was supposed to happen?
Berg asked Joe if there was any truth to the Musk and Zuckerberg fight coming to fruition. Rogan had his doubts. He said, “I don’t think it was ever gonna happen. I mean i was entertaining it because I think it would be fun if it did happen. And Elon said he would do it. Zuckerberg said he would do it.” And then suddenly it struck him, “But…then, I don’t know how the guy tweets as much as he does, how the f—k could you train for a fight. How do you run SpaceX, and Tesla, and The Department of Government efficiency, and Starlink. And he’s got like, a hundred kids”

Berg cut him off, “Joe he’s your friend. You know him better than we do. How the f—k does he do it?” Rogan replied, “I don’t know how he does it and i am his friend. I dont understand it. I have never known anybody who knows how to manage time better than that guy”.
And it’s kinda baffling, if you think about it. When does Elon Musk get the time to post memes, shadow ban folks, and talk thrash to his detractors on X? Amid his busy schedule? Mind boggling stuff. But that’s not as mind boggling as Joe Rogan literally comparing Elon Musk to one of the greatest scientific geniuses of our lifetime. Who did he compare the tech mogul to? Let’s find out.

When Joe Rogan compared Elon Musk to Albert Einstein
We get it. Elon Musk is significant to the narrative of the 21st century, for being a visionary and an excellent businessman. But to comparing him to the greatest scientific mind of the 20th century? That’s a bit of a stretch. But that’s exactly what Joe Rogan did in a conversation with Lex Friedman on JRE #2260.
“Einstein was pretty celebrated.”, said Rogan after dismissing Lex Friedman hailing Neil DeGrasse Tyson as a great communicator of science. “There’s no one person who’s like… other than Elon.”, Rogan added. Okay, maybe Friedman made a mistake by bringing up a physicist’s name. Perhaps a fellow billionaire could join the ranks of Elon. Nope, Rogan dismissed that as well, saying, “But he’s not doing the calculations and designing and engineering the machines like Wernher von Braun was.”
What’s your perspective on:
Is Elon Musk truly a modern-day Einstein, or is Joe Rogan just hyping his friend?
Have an interesting take?
That’s where the question arises. Is the comparison between Elon Musk and Albert Einstein fair? Sure, Musk saw opportunities in revolutionary ideas and became a first mover. But did he actually invent the technologies behind Tesla and SpaceX? It has become a major talking point about Elon Musk, whenever the questions about his origins arise.

But the tech mogul took the time to clarify it on his latest episode on The Joe Rogan Experience (#2281), saying, “No, Tesla didn’t exist in any meaningful form. There were no employees. JV and I joined three other people. There was no car, no nothing.” To which Joe further asked, “So there wasn’t even a prototype yet?”. Musk then asserted that there weren’t even any employees when he joined them. Fair enough. But that still doesn’t explain whether he was actually the brains behind the technology or not.
Hence, the comparison with Albert Einstein is baffling. E=mcor Elon=mc? We’re just joking. On a serious note, what do you think? Do you think the comparison is warranted or is Joe Rogan blowing his friendship with Musk out of proportion? Do let us know in the comments down below.
