Things between Khamzat Chimaev and Kamaru Usman have been heating up as of late. They have a burning desire to fight each other, but Dana White wants the fight to take place in a proper weight category. However, ‘Borz’ is not interested in making weight for any of his opponents and may revert to his old tactics.

While Khamzat Chimaev hasn’t fought since winning his catchweight bout against Kevin Holland at UFC 279, he is eager to come back against the former UC welterweight champion, Usman. The only way White will let this fight happen is if both the fighters agree on a weight division.

During a recent video uploaded on his YouTube channel, ‘Borz’ mentioned his wish to fight for the title. In addition to that, he is ready to fight a champion from any division. He said, “I want to fight for the title. So, for me, it doesn’t matter which weight class.” Moreover, he ridiculed the idea of making weight for a particular opponent and outright refused to do so despite Dana White‘s warning to him.

Chimaev added, “We can go 77, but I doesn’t want to make weight because for nobody. Why are you gonna do that?” His weight miss leading up to the bout against Nate Diaz had caused quite a stir in the promotion and was deemed as unprofessional.

‘Borz’ is ready to fight anyone

Khamzat Chimaev dropped from the 3rd rank to the 4th after Belal Muhammad‘s win over Gilbert Burns at UFC 288. However, rankings don’t mean anything for the Swedish fighter. He already believes that he is the best in the weight class. He said, “I am number three. So actually the numbers for me is nothing. I feel I am the king in this weight class [welterweight]… give me just title shot.”

Doesn’t matter, you know. I am ready for everybody,” said Khamzat Chimaev.
