Joe Rogan has come a long way from his early days of stand-up comedy, UFC commentary, and Fear Factor hosting. The 55-year-old is an undeniably huge celebrity and one of the most influential figures in the modern day. His work on his podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, made him arguably the world’s leading podcaster. Rogan also landed the top spot on Spotify’s podcast list two years in a row, while having an estimated $200 million partnership with the streaming giants.

He has also become a popular figure in the UFC with his commentary duties. Rogan provides hot takes on combat sports and MMA while on the desk for the UFC and also on his show. A black belt in both Jiu Jitsu and Tae Kwon Do, Rogan’s insights hold their weight in the combat sports community.

Joe Rogan reminisces about the early days of his fortune

While talking to comedian Andrew Schulz on episode #1960 of JRE, Rogan recollected the days when he started making big money. The BJJ black belt remembered his manager being concerned about his spending. Rogan mentioned he used to spend a lot on fine dining and other finer things.

The former ‘Fear Factor’ host had a good reason for being a spendthrift. He told Schulz, “I think, for sure, when I first started getting money, I didn’t think it was going to last. Nothing had ever lasted before. Like, why would think that this was going to, like… there’s no stability in it. It’s like, why would I think this was going to, like, keep happening? I was going to get on television. Like, who the f*** gets on TV?”

He also added, “You know, so I was like, I’m spending this f***ing money. We’re gonna have some fun eating lobsters. I bought a Volkswagen. I got a look at 1990, that car that I showed you last night, the Volkswagen Dorado that I would bump Kool G Rap in.”

Fortunately for Rogan, his luck only improved. Today, the longtime UFC commentator is a multimillionaire celebrity with an estimated $120 million net worth. Hopefully, that eased his manager’s nerves about Rogan spending big on lobsters as well.
