Former UFC fighter Mike Perry recently signed a multi-fight deal with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). During his time in the UFC, he lost seven of his previous ten fights. Exiting the organization with 7 wins to 8 losses in the welterweight division.
Perry’s manager Malki Kawa announced that his contract expired in April after his defeat at the hands of Daniel Rodriguez. During his recent interview with Helen Yee, Perry revealed the truth behind leaving the UFC.
Helen Yee asked Perry about his one remaining UFC fight, to which Mike responded by saying, “Yeah, this is what the business is about. We are prizefighters. We fight people for money to feed our families and when the big offers come in because I didn’t get cut. I fought my contract out; you know what? I dropped the news, low-key, I was dumb.”

Further commenting, “For some reason, I thought after my nose broke, I signed a five-fight contract after Luque fight. I guess it was a four-fight contract, and I told you, I had one more fight on my contract. Guess I still had a headache or something, I don’t know what I was thinking. I thought going into the fight I had one more fight on my contract and then it turns out I didn’t, so I was a free agent there for a little while.”

Mike Perry’s first fight at BKF
The 30-year-old welterweight is well known for his explosive fights. In his UFC career, he has defeated some notable fighters like Alex Oliveira and Paul Felder. Mike will face Michael Seals, on Saturday’s Triller Triad Combat event.
Unlike UFC, Triad Combat prohibits kicks and elbows. It aims to finally level the playing field between boxers and MMA fighters in the ultimate violent showdown.
At the recent weigh-ins, a scuffle almost broke out. Perry almost grabbed his opponent and stared him down.

This will be a new beginning for Mike. No one knows how he will fight in gloves in a new setting. But one thing is for sure, he will put on a performance.
