Hanes shared a post on Instagram from his appearance on the JRE episode no. 2068 recently. He thanked Rogan for the platform he provided by stating in the caption, “Thank you for the opportunity @joerogan. In 2014, episode #450, you gave a small-town bowhunter an opportunity I didn’t deserve. Same goes for this last one and every JRE podcast in between, but I’m so grateful you did, because you’ve changed my life.”

In the clip shared on Instagram, Cameron Hanes and Joe Rogan discussed the profound fulfillment derived from hunting, emphasizing the authenticity and earned nature of the experience. Hanes described the joy of working hard on a hunt, by stating, ““I mean after working you’re a** off on a hunt, killing a buck, having a meal like that, listening to old country music radio, just like crackling on this AM radio that was in the cabin. It’s like, I don’t know if there’s anything I’d rather do in life.”

Rogan underscores the significance of the hunting experience, attributing its value to the sense of earning it and its genuine nature. Hanes recounted a particular instance of being soaked and freezing on a mountain during a successful hunt.

Despite the challenging conditions, he confessed, ”This is how life is supposed to be, all this other bullsh*t all this around here, that’s not f*king real. This is real, out hunting, killing what you’re going to eat and packing it out of the mountains. That’s f*king real.”

The conversation revolved around the authenticity and fulfillment found in hunting, portraying it as a genuine and earned way of life. While another recent guest on the podcast revealed his experiences about considering a transition from professional wrestling to MMA!

Dwayne Johnson almost considered fighting in MMA

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, in a conversation with Joe Rogan, revealed that the limited income in his early wrestling days almost led him to consider joining PRIDE Fighting Championship in Japan. Reflecting on the challenges, Johnson explained that he earned $150,000 while wrestling 235 days a year. Faced with fans’ disapproval and pressure to conform, he stated, “I have this idea in my head ‘maybe I should train in MMA, go to PRIDE, and make real money and I don’t have to smile.”

Discussing his concerns with fellow wrestlers like Ken Shamrock and Mark Kerr, Johnson contemplated transitioning to MMA. He envisioned escaping the demand to conform and, more importantly, earning substantial income. He revealed, “’I think this is the way to go. I can make real money while these fans are booing me for $150 grand.'”
