What a wild ride UFC Seattle was after the unusual ending to the main event. Song Yadong appeared to double-poke Henry Cejudo in his eyes, and the fight abruptly ended with the Chinese native scoring a rare technical decision victory. The ending of the fight certainly did not please the fans, as they sounded off on the abysmal main event on social media.
As the fight started, Henry Cejudo appeared to be in the driver’s seat as he forced the issue against Song Yadong, and appeared to have the upper hand for most of the fight. However, an eye poke in the 3rd round saw ‘Triple C’ insisting referee Jason Herzog take five minutes to get his bearings right. “I can’t see anything,” he told the referee after the third round.
Moreover, Michael Bisping called for the judges to take a point away from Song Yadong for not only poking Henry Cejudo’s eye but also low-blowing him. With over 18,000 fans booing the Chinese native, ‘The Count’ stated, “Take a point… referee needs to take point,” on commentary.

As the judge handed Song Yadong the decision, he apologized to the fans in attendance for his mistake, but fans on social media weren’t having any of it. His illegal moves during the fight even garnered reactions from UFC fighters as well, so let’s take a look at what they had to say.
Fans are not happy with the ending of Henry Cejudo vs Song Yadong
Despite the jeers from the crowd, it was Song Yadong who emerged as the winner, and that certainly enraged the fans. Given that eye pokes and low blows have become a bit more common in the UFC in recent times, one fan boldly claimed that “Cheating is legal in MMA.” Former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling also weighed in on the situation and, just like others, he also pointed fingers at Yadong. “Big eyepoke from Song. Would like to see the rest of this fight stay clean and keep the fight fair for both,” ‘Funk Master’ added.

As one fan added, “Cejudo has taken a d— kick and a double eyepoke,” which makes it understandable why the former double champion didn’t proceed to continue after the third round. Coming back to Michael Bisping‘s demand for a pint deduction for such indiscretions, popular MMA journalist Damon Martin also echoed the same sentiment. “That’s a bad eye poke. Take away a point. Probably won’t happen,” he wrote on X. Moreover, some fans believe that the eye poke looked very intentional, as he commented, “That should be a point. Pretty blatant, both eyes,” even though Dana White would later talk about it in the press conference, claiming that it wasn’t intentional.

Moreover, when Henry Cejudo sat down on the mat to get his vision in order, it prompted a reaction from former UFC fighter Derek Brunson, who claimed, “Cejudo wilding out here tonight.” This fight had all the eyes of current and former UFC fighters as Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller would claim that UFC Seattle was the “Weirdest Night Ever.”
