Derrick Lewis went through a tough phase. The former UFC title challenger is currently on a three-fight losing streak. At the moment, he has one more opportunity to bounce back as he prepares for a fight against Marcos Rogerio De Lima at UFC 291. The bout is scheduled to take place on July 29, 2023, at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. ‘The Black Beast’s previous bout was against Sergey Spivak at UFC Fight Night 218. For the bout, he had to undergo an extreme weight cut that made him feel like he was near death.
The 38-year-old went through a terrible time before the fight against Spivak, which made him unimaginably tired. Recently, the Houston native opened up about the same. Lewis lost his bout against Spivak by first-round submission, and the bout only lasted for three minutes and five seconds. ‘The Black Beast’ made it clear that the awful weight cut was one of the major reasons behind his loss.
