After 29 wins and zero losses in his illustrious career, “The Eagle” hung up his gloves. Khabib attributed his retirement to the sake of his mother. Khabib promised his mother that he would stop fighting after the death of his father and mentor Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. His father passed away due to complications following COVID-19. Khabib only fought once after the death of his father and retired after that.

Daniel Cormier, Khabib’s longtime teammate, and friend, recently took to his social media to congratulate “The Eagle” on his one-year anniversary since retiring from the UFC. Daniel Cormier, a fellow MMA legend, shared a photo with Nurmagomedov and wrote about how the Dagestani could have extended his unbeaten record but chose not to.

To that Khabib replied, “I am very happy that I met you in my life. You have always inspired me in the gym, and you are a very big reason for my successful career. See you next week brother.” Khabib has previously shared that his close friend Daniel Cormier has assisted him in his training and that the two have wrestled together. The two share a heartwarming friendship that we MMA fans love to see.

What has Khabib Nurmagomedov been up to?
After retiring from the UFC last year as one of the most successful fighters in MMA history, ‘The Eagle’ has pursued a variety of interests. He has set up many of his own business ventures. Some of them include his own MMA gym, his own MMA promotion (Eagle Fighting Championship), an alkaline water firm, a protein bar company, and many others.
The undisputed champion has also been doing his fair share of traveling and networking. Khabib was recently spotted meeting with many notable footballers, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba, and Oleksandr Zinchenko.
