Conor McGregor‘s friend and teammate Dillon Danis is gearing up for his highly anticipated boxing match against Logan Paul. Meanwhile, he recently made an appearance on the ‘Flagrant’ podcast and came clean about an incident two years ago. Danis finally revealed what went down in the infamous 2021 bar brawl.

During the face-to-face between Dillon Danis and Logan Paul, the YouTuber made sure to remind the BJJ specialist about him getting choked out by a bouncer. As such, ‘The Maverick’ brought the bouncer with him during their confrontation before the fight, after connecting with him a few days prior. However, Danis opened up about it and revealed some more details that people may not have known. Let’s see what he had to say.

Conor McGregor’s friend Dillon Danis tells his part of the story

The BJJ specialist claimed to have suffered an injury at the time when the brawl took place. He had surgery on his knee and attended a wedding where he got drunk. Dillon Danis said, “What happened was, I was at a wedding, I was very drunk... I had my knee surgery so I am on crutches.”

After attending the wedding, he wanted to go to a bar. Meanwhile, the best man from the wedding wanted to take a picture of himself with his uncle. So Dillon Danis left his crutches in the car and waited at the bar till the best man arrived.

Suddenly, an individual came up to him asking for his ID. But Conor McGregor’s friend insisted on waiting for some time before his friend arrived. “I get out, I give the crutches in the car and I sit, and the guys like, ‘Yo! No ID?’, and I’m like, ‘Bro, listen, there’s two people inside. Can you stop? Just going to see the guy’s uncle,'” said Dillon Danis.

Danis claimed a few guys surrounded him as he engaged in a conversation with the person who asked him for his ID. However, the bouncer from the video didn’t make an appearance at that moment. “So me and him are talking, right? And then they start circling me. It’s like six, seven guys, and that guy that, in the video, chokes me out wasn’t involved,” said Dillon Danis. Then, the situation escalated really fast.

BJJ specialist thought that the police would shoot him

After noticing that a few people had surrounded him, Dillon Danis warned them about getting physical. He did not want the situation to escalate since he just had surgery. However, one of the individuals went on to mock him. Danis further stated, “I say, ‘Yo, listen. No one touch me so we don’t have a problem’. So the guy goes like this to me and he goes, ‘What happens if I do touch you?'”

Moreover, even though he was injured, none of the individuals could take Dillon Danis down despite four of them trying desperately to pin him to the ground. That was the time when the bouncer from the video, which went viral, came from behind and jumped on Danis’s back and even the police came to the scene.

The 30-year-old MMA fighter said, “So that guy [from the video] goes from behind… he jumps on my back and there’s two so the cops come at this point… they’re like, ‘Stop resisting.'” Apparently, Conor McGregor’s friend did not know who caught him from behind. He thought that the police had initiated descalation methods so he refrained from making any moves in his inebriated state of mind. “I don’t know who’s behind me, I think it’s a cop and I am drunk... I’m like, ‘I am about to get shot,'” said Dillon Danis.

The prospect of an MMA fighter getting choked out by a bouncer could prove to be an embarrassing ordeal. However, Dillon Danis claims suggest that success would not be likely in that scenario. Nevertheless, it is important to note that nobody was seriously harmed during that confrontation.
