“I Already Did That When…”- Days After Going Back and Forth, Jorge Masvidal Lays Bare the Truth About Fighting “Fool” Ben Askren in a Hilarious Jab

In the cauldron of MMA, you can always count on one thing – verbal jabs can fly just as fast and as hard as the ones in the octagon. A case in point is the ongoing exchange between the ex-UFC welterweight, Jorge Masvidal, and his former opponent, Ben Askren. After rounds of back-and-forth banter, Masvidal uncloaked the truth about his clash with Askren in a hilarious snapback, that has left fans and followers in hysterics.

Recently, the Miami-born fighter stoked the flames of his rivalry with his adversary, Ben Askren. The interview was with the American model and social media creator, Nina Daniele.  ‘Gamebred’ featured in a nearly 25-minute long talk with her, where he pulled no punches in setting Askren’s claims straight.

Jorge Masvidal Addresses His Rivalry with Ben Askren

When asked by Nina about whether he wants to fight Askren, Jorge Masvidal hilariously responded; “Nah, I’m not even trying to fight that fool, like that, I already did that when I was fighting in the MMA, I’m retired now”. There have been questions about both the ‘Gamebred’ and Ben ‘Funky’ Askren making a UFC comeback post-retirement.

These primarily stem from the challenges Askren has been issuing on social media. Masvidal, however, suggested that the two of them box it out instead. He says, “Ben I can’t knee you in the face, the fight might last longer than five seconds you know”. This statement finds its roots in Masvidal’s record-breaking 5-second KO against Askren at UFC 239, back in 2019. 

The flying knee that resounded all around the world has earned Masvidal bragging rights in this rivalry. ‘Street Jesus’ clearly did not hold back from expressing this sentiment when asked about Askren’s return.

When Nina said it was a sweet gesture, Masvidal instantly responded, “I mean I sent him into it, so it’s only, it’s only right I guess that I bring him out”. It was typical of Masvidal, with his searing responses brushing off Askren’s challenges with disregard.
