The UFC and its association with A-list celebrities are very common. While some make casual appearances at PPVs events, others have gained the reputation of being hardcore.

Stars like, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, Sylvester Stallone, Tom Hardy, Mike Tyson, Snoop Dogg, and countless others, fall into the category of hardcore MMA fans.

Another such hardcore UFC fan and a Hollywood A-lister is Arnold Schwarzenegger. The former governor of California has popped up at many UFC events in the past. There is also a very famous moment that he shared backstage, with the former light-heavyweight & heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier.

Cormier and Arnold Schwarzenegger share a moment post-UFC 187

It was UFC 187, and ‘DC’ had just won the vacant light-heavyweight belt against Anthony Johnson. Schwarzenegger, who was also present at this event, was walking backstage when he bumped into the champ. Cormier, at the time, was being interviewed by Megan Olivi.

Cormier was reflecting on the fight that took place when the ‘Terminator’, decided to gatecrash the interview and congratulate ‘DC’ for winning the belt.

Both shared a delightful moment together where Schwarzenegger made fun of Cormier’s belly. He said, “ I almost saw the six-pack”.

Cormier chuckled hard, listening to the statement. The famous actor also went on to call ‘DC’, a great champion and someone whom he admires.

Daniel CHAMP-CHAMP Cormier

UFC 187, marked the first title win for the wrestler. He had failed once before this, against the then light-heavyweight champion Jon “bones” Jones. At 187, DC and ‘Rumble’ met inside the Octagon for the vacant belt. Known for his power, Johnson found initial success against Cormier. But, with his wrestling pedigree, Cormier proved to be a handful for him. He won the bout in the third round via submission.

Cormier is a former UFC light-heavyweight and Heavyweight champion. He’s one of the four people in the UFC to have held two belts simultaneously. He was always called out for his physique. A natural heavyweight, even at 205 lbs, he used to carry a little weight around the waist.

However, it never hindered DC’s performance inside the octagon. Even at heavyweight, he didn’t have cardio issues. A wrestling ace, two-division champion, and UFC Hall of Famer, Daniel Cormier, has done it all.
