Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis are all set to go against each other at UFC 297. The much-anticipated battle has already gathered a lot of attention because of the verbal spat between the pair. Du Plessis mocked the champion regarding his childhood trauma and received a threat from the “Tarzan” as well. 

However, in a recent YouTube video, Michael Bisping said the champion got a dose of his own medicine this time. Strickland is famous for his verbal spats, but he was at the receiving end this time. Let us find out what the former UFC champion feels about the whole. 

Michael Bisping feels Dricus Du Plessis taught Strickland a vital lesson

Dricus Du Plessis, in a recent press conference, mocked the current middleweight champion for his troubled relationship with his father. While the 29-year-old South African enjoyed the moment, Strickland seemed rattled by the whole incident. In a recent YouTube video, Bisping gave his opinion on the entire situation and gave the reason as to why “Stillknocks” mocked the champion. 

In the video, he said: ” So the fight sells itself already. As we know, these two have been going back and forth trading barbs, and it continues to escalate in terms of tension between these two. Then, on the flip side, Du Plessis says well, the man’s a hypocrite. He says that he laughed and joked about Khalil Rountree. He says that he went on about Ian Garry’s situation and all this type of stuff. He says, but all of a sudden, right when he was given a dose of his own medicine, now he can’t take it.

As Bisping mentions, the tension between the pair has already escalated. It will be interesting to see whether the emotions take the better of the fighters. Du Plessis is one of the cleanest strikers in the division and will look to end the fight quickly. Will Strickland be able to come out on top in his first title defense?

Will UFC 297 witness a new middleweight champion?

Dricus Du Plessis is one of the few fighters to get a title shot in such a brief span of time. The 29-year-old has taken just six fights to make a name for himself in the division and is now going for the title. “Stillknocks” is coming off a dominant victory against Robbert Whittaker at UFC 290. He ended the battle via knockout in the second round, thus taking his career record to 20-2-0.

On the other hand, Strickland has rightfully earned the title of champion after dethroning the former champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 293.
