Conor McGregor is already on to his new big adventure, it seems! While the star lost some big names from his arsenal after a civil lawsuit case, he hasn’t lost sight of his personal visions and the latest seems to be a stint as an executive in the music industry. And why wouldn’t he? After all, he shares his moniker ‘The Notorious’ with the late rapper The Notorious B.I.G., who the Irishman is, self-admittedly, a great fan of.
Greenback Records, a music label company founded by the UFC star and his business partners Richard Buck and Julian O’Brian, first opened its door on July 17. “I am excited to create Ireland’s first major record label in an industry that I have had great interest in for some time,” the boxer had said at the time. The label even signed rap icon Xzibit in October this year. Notably, his new single ‘Play This At My Funeral’—the lead single for his eighth studio album (Kingmaker) and first in 12 years slated for early 2025—was released on October 11.
This album is reportedly a follow-up to 2012’s ‘Napalm’ which featured artists like Wiz Khalifia, and Prodigy among others. And the rapper is definitely leaving no stones unturned for an iconic comeback…

On December 13, in a post uploaded in collaboration with XZIBIT, Greenback Records, Conor McGregor, and event promoter Bobby A De, a happy and smiling Conor McGregor is seen having the time of his life. “The video for Everywhere I Go is out everywhere now!! We’re getting closer to Kingmaker, and we’re having a great time preparing for its release and contributing to one of the greatest West Coast takeovers in generations 💪🏾Kendrick, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, The Dogg Pound, The Eastsidaz… and a brand new Xzibit album coming soon…THE WEST IS UP !!⬆️,” the caption read. What’s more?
The fighter even took to the comment section of the post to add a single comment about the success of his record company, “United Nations in this motherf–ker! @greenbackrecords.” Mystic Mac’s excitement is surely through the roof, and like a true friend, he hasn’t shied away from supporting the artist—something even Xzibit realizes…
In an October this year, he had said, “I was open to the offers. Because they allowed people to see the other sides of me. My raps will tear your head off, but I’m not always the aggressive dude from music videos.“
In another interview, he had also talked about the hidden meaning behind his lead single. “It is a morbid title but I think ‘Play This At My Funeral’ has nothing to do with me dying. This is a snapshot of where I am mentally, physically, emotionally. Some finite statements are made in there. I think it’s really dope to be able to come back and show people where I am, what I’ve been doing, what I’ve done, so it answers a lot of questions.”
Having said that, with the launch of the new music video by XZIBIT and ‘Greenback Records’, the fighter is slowly gaining strides in the music market industry which saw a revenue of $28.6 billion in 2023, according to a report published by Statista.

Conor McGregor strikes as competitors fail to deliver
Most of the retail brands that used to sell Conor McGregor’s ‘Proper 12’ whiskey took swift action by stopping the sale of his alcoholic beverage in their stores. It was the biggest shock that the fighter had received in terms of financial loss. The whiskey’s parent company, Proximo Spirits, took the matter further and emphasized that they would cancel every ounce of its partnership with Conor McGregor.
