Chandler was talking with ESPN’s Brett Okamoto. During the conversation, Chandler detailed his thoughts on McGregor’s appearance at BKFC 41 and his return to the UFC octagon. Chandler said, “Conor, to his core, really is romantic about the sport of mixed martial arts. He really is. He loves it. And I think he’s got an ego the size of Texas. So, he needs to get back in there and continue to feel the rush, feel the crowd acting like he’s a god for those 15 minutes, 25 minutes, whatever it may be.“

Staying on the same topic, he continued, “So I think he’s coming back. It sure would be a huge stain on his legacy. Leading everybody down a road. Making people think that he is coming back and then kind of chickening out at the very end and only doing it for the publicity. That to me screams insecurity.”

While talking in the same interview, Chandler mentioned that McGregor’s fame made him forget that he was a fighter. ‘Iron’ claimed that The Notorious has grown into a huge celebrity over time and that he sometimes forgets to act like a fighter, as his stardom overpowers his passion for fighting.

Talking about McGregor’s appearance at BKFC 41, Chandler said that those acts do not surprise him, as McGregor loves to grab the attention of the crowd. Moreover, during their TUF 31 shoot, the Irish superstar stated that he has no plans of retiring from MMA anytime soon.
